Weeping tile drains

One material that gets a lot of attention when waterproofing a basement is weeping tile. Weeping tile, also known as the big "O" is a drainage material used to drain water from the surrounding ground to a sump pump or drain. Weeping tile is typically a black porous pipe in a sock. The sock protects the pipe from getting debris or dirt inside the weeper but allows water to penetrate. The weeping tile when used by a basement waterproofing expert, drains water from alongside the house or alongside the interior footing away from the house. Weeping tile can be used either in exterior or interior applications.

The exterior basement waterproofing method places weeping tile in a lateral position in window wells and places them alongside the footing of the house covered by gravel. Its also used in conjunction with basement waterproofing barrier that stops water from penetrating the foundation.

The interior basement waterproofing method places weeping tile below the floor alongside the footing. This weeping tile is used together with a wall treatment that drains water that penetrates the foundation into the weeping tile that's under the floor and into a sump pump which shoots the water away from the house.

Weeping tile is of great use to a basement waterproofing expert. It finds itself being used often in basement waterproofing jobs all over the world.
